Frequently asked questions
Is localthings really free to use?
Yes. You can build and publish one map with up to 100 locations at no cost. Paid plans only come in when you need more.
Do I pay per map or per account?
Per map. You only pay for the maps you put on a paid plan; your other maps stay free.
Can I use my own domain?
On Premium you publish your map on your own (sub)domain — for example map.yourcompany.com — instead of on localthings.nl.
Can I remove the localthings branding?
On Premium the map is fully white-label: no localthings branding, only yours.
Can I upgrade or cancel later?
Yes. Plans run per map, per month. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time.
What is the atlas?
The atlas is the collection of public maps on localthings: our team's Community Map of the Netherlands, plus maps built by people in the community. When you publish a map, the "Show in the atlas" switch in Studio decides whether it appears there. Switched off, your map stays reachable via its link.
What does the Custom plan include?
Custom is for large projects: unlimited locations and white-glove help, where we set up and migrate your map for you. Email info@localthings.nl and we will put a proposal together.
